Taken at the Animal Ark in Reno, Nevada.

They have Cheetah Runs as a fund raiser and it's worth every dollar

Wow I never knew there was such a thing as a Cheetah Run. Amazing shot you've captured here and I just love that dust behind him. :)

Amazing shot! I've lived in South Africa and have seen cheetahs in the wild and up close and personal but never have I seen a cheetah in action! Believe it or not but cheetahs are going extinct pretty quickly (It's a shame really) and they aren't so easy to spot.
I applaud your timing!!

WOW - my heart skipped a beat when I saw this. I love pictures of cheetahs running - it's very rare to get the chance to see one like this. I have yet to even see a single cheetah in person - let alone one running! :( It would be nice to have it a touch sharper, but I'm still overwhelmingly jealous of the fact that you got a chance to photograph such grace in person! :faint:

Thank you so much for your comments! We have an Animal Ark out here where they hold "runs" so we get to have a chane to photograph them. I had shot it with a Nikon D80 and I feel something is wrong with the sensor, because it should have beenn sharp, I can't wait to give it a try with my D300 and 80-400mm lens! It's really neat to hear them purr as well, they're really loud. :)

I am absolutely green with envy. You better take zillions of shots so I can live vicariously through you! :giggle:
