I love house sparrows they are so common, but they are very jaunty and brighten up the winter months. All the birds in the neigborhood come to eat my Blueand Gold Maccaws seeds that she throws out of her dish, and they also now have a real taste for the cat food. My front yard had Western Bluebirds, Towhees, Western Phoebes, wrens, blue jays (of course), Mockingbirds, Red Tailed Hawks,, and a Barn Owl lives in the pine tree at the top of the property. I like your photos of California Quail, they are the fatest California Quail I have ever seen, so there must be some good eats in your neighborhood.

I wish I had a wider variety of birds in my backyard, the one Towhee that comes by is very timid and I've only got a couple of glancing shots, Shrub Jays are real common in fall but it's hard to get a good shot of them and of course Pigeons, we do have plenty of pigeons in the area! The quail are puffed up to
keep warm against the cold, it was 38* out when I took his photo.

This is perfect.
